Our professional services introduce parents to lifelong practices that will continue to serve them for the rest of their lives. Our postpartum care offering is pivotal because the parents are the root holding all of their baby’s needs. Therefore our services exist to gently come alongside families to validate, affirm, and educate.
THE HISTORY
"Doula" is an ancient Greek word, meaning a woman who serves. Today, the word Doula refers to a professional trained to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing people throughout their pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. Doulas do not medically assess or assist the unborn or expectant person.
Because of the maternal mortality statistics currently affecting birthing individuals in America, Cynthia felt compelled to take action and became certified as a full spectrum doula, giving birth to Essential Doula Care Services LLC serving communities throughout the Delaware Valley.

OUR EXPERTISE
Certified as a Full Spectrum Doula, and Reproductive Peer Counselor, Childbirth Educator, Trained in the Spinning Babies way of birthing, and HypnoBirthing International Educator, Cynthia has supported and served dozens of perinatal individuals in Delaware Valley.
She is one of the writers for the most recent inclusive training manual for CAPPA to include diverse verbiage, accurate illustrations, and information as well as examples and stories of how BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ communities exist in our society; And is also credentialed with several New Jersey Managed Care Organizations that provide doula support coverage to communities throughout Southern NJ.
Cynthia holds a B.A. in Communications making clear precise communication a pivotal component of her practice at every stage.
